I was born and raised in the Bitterroot Valley of western Montana. As a kid, most of my free time was spent in the outdoors. I served in the United States Navy after high school, and eventually earned my degree in Business Management from the University of Montana in 1990 and moved to the Portland area. We have lived in Columbia County since 1992.
My wife, Dana, and I now reside in Deer Island, where we built our current home in 2004. We enjoy horseback riding and camping in our free time, and when possible, I sneak down to the Columbia and try to run into a salmon or two with my son, Justin.
